A new energy storage project in Eugene, Oregon will provide backup power for emergency services, as well as cost savings and electricity services to the municipal utility (Eugene Water and Electric Board). This webinar summarized the project and explored technical and economic issues that have arisen during development. The project is important because it will further understanding of how energy storage can participate in energy markets in the Pacific Northwest. The project is jointly supported by U.S. DOE Office of Electricity, Sandia National Laboratories, and Oregon Department of Energy.
