Abbe Ramanan

Project Director

Abbe Ramanan is a Project Director at Clean Energy Group, where she leads CEG’s fossil fuel replacement initiatives. These include the Phase Out Peakers project, which works to accelerate the retirement of polluting, fossil-fuel peaker power plants and to advance the deployment of clean, cost-effective alternatives, such as energy storage and renewables. Through another initiative, the Evaluating Alternative Fuels and Technologies project, Abbe develops educational materials and tools to equip advocates, regulators, and policymakers with evidence-based information to counter the use of alternative fuels like hydrogen, as well as technologies like carbon capture and storage, to prolong the use of fossil fuels. Abbe also leads the Data Center Energy Accountability Initiative, which aims to support community members and policymakers with accessible tools and resources to mitigate harm from data center buildout. Abbe’s work has appeared in RTO Insider, Canary Media, Grist, Utility Dive, and E&E News, among others. Prior to joining CEG, Abbe worked on Vote Solar’s Policy and Advocacy team, supporting workforce development efforts in solar. Abbe received a master’s degree in energy policy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
