AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, CLEAN ENERGY FOR ALL.
Unprecedented federal actions have stripped away support for clean energy and dismantled programs designed to make energy more affordable. The projects that will suffer most are the projects we support – community-led efforts to bring clean, resilient, and affordable power to critical local facilities. There is a brief window of time for projects to access federal incentives before they expire, but time is running out, and we have to act fast. And, we’ll need your support to do that.
With support from donors like you and in partnership with organizations across the county, Clean Energy Group has been successful in:
- Bringing the benefits of resilient power to marginalized communities. We have awarded $2 million in technical assistance funding to 380 community-serving institutions, providing early-stage support to explore solar and battery storage for resilience and cost savings. To date, 100 of these projects have been completed.
- Accelerating the retirement of polluting power plants. In partnership with community advocates, we have blocked more than a gigawatt of new gas plants in environmental justice communities.
- Advancing equitable policies and programs. We have worked directly with policymakers and regulators in more than 20 states to guide them in developing inclusive and accessible clean energy programs.
- Raising energy justice awareness. To build awareness of the injustices of the fossil fuel energy system and the opportunities to unlock greater energy equity through clean energy, we publish dozens of informational resources every year, reaching tens of thousands of advocates, policymakers, and community members.
Help us meet the challenges ahead. A donation of $100 can leverage over $13,000 in external capital, supporting the equitable development of clean, reliable power for communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.
