Val Stori

Project Director

Val Stori is a Project Director for the Clean Energy States Alliance, where she leads projects focused on building electrification and offshore wind policy. She coordinates a multi-state initiative to develop building electrification and clean heating programs that support and accelerate the deployment of clean heating and cooling technologies and grid-optimized buildings. Additionally, she co-directs CESA’s offshore wind project, which is focused on regional state cooperation for market acceleration and she supports CESA’s Energy Storage Technology Advancement Partnership. She has co-authored several reports, including The Role of Hydropower in State Clean Energy Policy; Case Studies of RPS Best Practices: Solar Carve-outs, SREC Tracking, and Thermal InclusionDistributed Wind Energy Zoning and Permitting: A Toolkit for Local Governments; A Vermonter’s Guide to Clean Heating and Cooling; and Environmental Rules for Hydropower in State Renewable Portfolio Standards. She currently sits on the board of several non-profit organizations and town committees, including Hands in Outreach, the Town of Underhill’s Planning Commission, and Underhill’s Natural Resources Commission. She holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from the Vermont Law School. She is a native Spanish-speaker, is fluent in French, and is moderately proficient in German and Nepalese. She and her partner run a small bed and breakfast in Underhill, Vermont.
