October 20, 2018

Seth Mullendore, Debra Perry, Yael Gichon | Clean Energy Group, Institute for Sustainable Communities

This guide reviews permitting and interconnection requirements and processes for the development of residential and commercial -scale solar photovoltaic systems paired with energy storage technologies (solar+storage) in Boulder, Colorado. The guide is only applicable to behind-the-meter solar+storage systems, those sited on the customer side of the utility meter, which is the most common configuration for residential and commercial installations.

Created in support of Boulder’s Climate Commitment, this guide aims to advance the installation of solar+storage systems locally, contributing to the city’s goal of being powered by 100% renewable energy by 2030.

This publication was produced by Clean Energy Group and the Institute for Sustainable Communities with support from the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office through the Solar Market Pathways program.
