State Plans for 100% Clean Electricity: Updates from California and Rhode Island

States with goals for achieving carbon-free electricity have been planning for how to achieve those goals. California and Rhode Island recently issued important planning studies that will help with 100% clean energy implementation. These reports can serve as models for the types of planning studies other states could usefully undertake.
In this webinar, Liz Gill, SB 100 Technical Lead at the California Energy Commission, discussed the SB 100 Joint Agency Report. Nicholas Ucci, Commissioner of the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, discussed The Road to 100% Renewable Electricity. In both cases, the presenters explained how the report was produced and what it tells policymakers about how the state should advance towards 100% clean electricity.
