As large-scale battery energy storage systems become more common throughout Massachusetts, many communities are seeking evidence-based information on the safety, value, and benefits of these systems. In this Clean Energy Group webinar tailored for Massachusetts communities, members of the Massachusetts Clean Peak Coalition walked through how large-scale battery energy storage systems can be used to replace and retire expensive and polluting fossil-fuel power plants. Panelists discussed the different types of energy storage, fire safety considerations for first responders, and other environmental implications related to battery storage.
