Massachusetts Clean Peak Coalition Comments to DOER

The Massachusetts Clean Peak Coalition (MACPC) submitted comments to the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) regarding DOER’s December 2023 report, “Charging Forward: Energy Storage in a Net Zero Commonwealth”. The MACPC includes the Berkshire Environmental Action Team, Slingshot, Clean Energy Group, and the Massachusetts Climate Action Network. The MACPC has reviewed the recommendations listed in the “Charging Forward” report within the context of our mission to phase out fossil peakers in Massachusetts, with a particular focus on the concerns of low-income communities and communities of color. MACPC’s comments focus on the extent to which this draft overlooked the importance of these localized emissions.
