Clean Energy Group
This annual impact report highlights Clean Energy Group’s key initiatives and achievements in 2025. It also recognizes the invaluable contributions of our partners, whose collaboration strengthens our mission.
In 2025, with support from our funders and in collaboration with partners, we were successful in:
- Climate Resilience and Community Health: We reached a milestone of supporting 400 community-serving facilities in developing solar+storage for cost savings and energy resilience. To date, more than 100 of these projects have been completed.
- Distributed Energy Access and Equity: We published updated guidance for nonprofits on how to access federal Investment Tax Credits for clean energy projects, before the accelerated retirement of these essential incentive programs due to changes in federal guidance. These resources were accessed over 15,000 times in 2025.
- Energy Storage and Flexible Demand: We supported the creation of a $30 million virtual power plant program in New Orleans through a multiyear effort led by local organizations Together New Orleans and the Alliance for Affordable Energy. This landmark investment will bring solar+storage to 1,500 homes and 250 community institutions across the city, improving reliability and lowering energy costs for low- and moderate-income households.
- Fossil Fuel Replacement: We collaborated with community organizations in 9 states to fight fossil fuel power plants in environmental justice communities, push back against harmful industry-led hydrogen proposals, and raise awareness about the economic and environmental impacts of energy load growth from data center buildout.
