The Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) hosted a webinar on “Clean Energy Access in Post-Maria Puerto Rico.” Speakers discussed the critical issues facing Puerto Rico as it works to build its energy grid.
Seth Mullendore, Vice President and Project Director at Clean Energy Group, talked about CEG’s Resilient Power Project and how CEG is working with various nonprofits and solar+storage developers to bring resilient power to the island.
Next, Martin Wainstein from the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (CITY) talked about his project to use an innovative and scalable smart solar financing mechanisms to put solar panels on Puerto Rico’s public schools, which serve as emergency shelters during hurricanes.
