A new report quantifies the job impacts of offshore wind development off the U.S. Northeast from Maine to Maryland. Based on two market scenarios of 4GW and 8 GW by 2030, the study revealed a peak of 8300 to 16,700 full-time equivalent baseline jobs in 2028. With the addition of medium to high probability jobs, these numbers increased up to a peak of 36,300 in 2028. The baseline jobs most likely to be performed in the U.S. include project development and management, supply and installation of electrical substations and subsea cable, and wind farm operation and maintenance; whereas the medium to high probability jobs include a manufacturing sector workforce.
